Christie\u2019s International Real Estate\u2019s blog, Luxury Defined, recently published an interesting report by the journalist Jenny Cosgrove on the Spanish wine industry.<\/span><\/p>\n

The article offers a detailed overview of the biggest PDOs in Spain, paying special attention to those with the most prestige such as Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Utiel-Requena or the Andalusian triangle where sherry wine and brandy is produced.<\/p>\n

The report takes Spain into consideration as one of the countries with the largest areas of land dedicated to the production of wine (15% of the area globally) but it attempts to explain the lack of international recognition Spanish wineries receive in comparison to their French and Italian counterparts. In Christie\u2019s International Real Estate\u2019s report, this lack of appreciation towards the Spanish wineries is criticised, due to the quality of the wines produced there.<\/p>\n

\"Winery<\/p>\n

Included in the report are contributions from renowned international figures such as Zeren Wilson, wine columnist and collaborator for the The Guardian<\/em> and The Evening Standard<\/em> who offers his view on the PDO Rioja. The article also includes comments from Purificaci\u00f3n Mancebo, head of Rimontg\u00f3 Invest\u2019s winery department, who offers her opinion on the potential of the PDO Ribera del Duero\u2019s Tempranillo variety as well as the growth in the production of cava in PDO Utiel-Requena, thanks to the French and native varieties such as Pinot-Noir, Chardonnay and Macabeo.<\/p>\n

Finally, the article concludes in the towns of Jerez, Sanl\u00facar de Barrameda and El Puerto de Santamar\u00eda, a historical area known as the \u2018Sherry Triangle\u2019.
