The Designation of Origin Utiel-Requena is responsible for this third edition of the program, where information about the most important events regarding wine of the region is gathered
Increasingly becoming more aware of the importance of wine tourism, the Valencian wineries present a large number of entertainment activities about wine culture, of which they decided to collect in the same document. The Wine Program is a pocket-size notebook, also available online, that the Designation of Origin (D.O.) Utiel-Requena publishes and, it consists of a hundred proposals open to the public and celebrated throughout the year.
This is the third edition of the publication, presented in the headquarters of the D.O.; the Bodega Redonda of Utiel, before all kinds of organisations, from trade unions to wine cellars, trade schools, cultural associations and businessmen. “For the third consecutive year, we have a program which is the result of the mutual union. It is important as it demonstrates the power of the Round Table, that gathers all the representatives of the industry, and gives a name to this area”, states the president of the D.O. Utiel-Requena, José Miguel Medina.
The Wine Program of 2018 contains detailed information about tastings, tours, food pairing and training courses, among others events, celebrated chronologically throughout the year. More specifically, it is divided into six categories; tours and sampling; tours and snacks; food paring; training course, and events. With a very practical design, each activity presented in the program includes information regarding; the organising entity, the place where the events will take place, a timetable, the period of the events and, a brief detailed description of the event.
The events mentioned in the Wine Program of 2018 are available, in Spanish, in paper format as well as downloadable via PDF. Regarding the program, the tasting courses and the tours of the main museums of the region are highlighted. The fairs of the region are also important, as well as the courses related to the viticulture world. Data is showed about the Grape Harvest Fair of Requena, the guided tours to the Wineries of Utiel, the tastings commented in Ferevin, and the introduction courses of Dominio de la Vega, the price is also shown.
One of the aims of this publication is to unite the winegrowing industry, that increasingly has more relevance within the Valencian Community, where the buying of wineries and vineyards is a blooming investment. On the other hand, the program was able to reawaken the interest of wine lovers, as all they have to do is download it from the webpage to enjoy the pleasures of wine of one of the most prestigious regions with historical tradition.
