El Economista interviews Purificacion Mancebo, director of wineries at Rimontgó Invest

The latest issue of the online magazine El Economista Comunidad Valenciana, includes an interview with Rimontgó Invest’s winery area manager, Purificacion Mancebo, a division of Rimontgó dedicated to the management of international investor interest in trophy assets in Spain.

The report by Olivia Fontanillo, explains the pull of the foreign investors to the Spanish wine-making sector, especially in the PDO Rioja and Ribera del Duero areas. PDO Utiel-Requena has also received a lot of attention lately thanks to a growing international impact due to the quality of its wine, value for money, growth potential and cava production.

Throughout the interview, Purificacion Mancebo, states the reasons why Spain hasn’t been the first choice for international investors in the wine-making sector, in comparison with areas like Bordeaux, France. In this article, Mancebo lays out the different motivations of the investors when acquiring a winery, be that partially or fully and the features these buyers are looking for when weighing up an investment.
